Google self-driving cars the October activity

Here is the monthly report [PDF] from Google within its self driving cars about October's activity. According to report Google's self-driven cars are on the streets of Austin California. The company gives a little insight about the company's philosophy about the project.

Project is running on both Autonomus and Self mode on Autonomus mode it covers 1,268,108 miles and on manual mode 938, 621 miles.

Taking the advantage of Halloween, company asked people to hangout around the parked cars so that the software can get the knowledge of children and there different sizes and shapes. This knowledge will be helpful in future to recognize kids and make the cars able to "be careful".

According to the report Google has total of 48 cars 23 Lexus RX450h SUVs and 25 prototypes. Cars are averaging 10,000 to 15,000 miles per week in Autonomous mode.
